2017 ANNUAL REPORT

Another Year for the Books.

Our charitable giving was made possible by an independent grant foundation, The Biegler Foundation, to support causes that align with our mission statement: actions matter. This is a United States based Family Foundation that awards grants annually to multiple projects representative of their core values.

Our international efforts went to Glasswing International. We pledged $13k in total, $3k on behalf of a school makeover in Mexico City and $11k to the construction of a skatepark recreation center in Costa Rica. Domestically $3k of our our support went to the Movember Foundation supporting testicular cancer research; and the reminder of $3.5k went to the Hadley Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

COMMITTED TO KEEPING YOUTH ENGAGED IN PRODUCTIVE ACTIVITIES THROUGH SPORT & RECREATION.

Our international efforts with Glasswing International were focused on empowering youth by keeping them engaged in education and recreation programs.

In Mexico City, we took part in a school makeover project. We took 30 travelers to help create a clean, colorful learning environment that provides a bright and engaging classroom, rather than a bleak, dreary concrete room.

The results include 3x time spent in education programs and  the introduction of after-school programs in the newly created recreation center.

While we saw great success in this project, we still have a need for larger budgets and more long-term solutions to education in these areas.

The greatest success of 2017 was building Luzo Skatepark in San Jose, Costa Rica. We have seen a 92% increase in after school skate, BMX and balance recreation programs and a 200% increase in new-members. We have also seen a 5x spike in new youth group activities, including: english lessons, media courses, female empowerment programs and field trips to serve the indigenous jungle communities of Costa Rica.

This project had so many parties involved to thank, namely: Red Bull, Ryan Sheckler Foundation, DIVERTCity, Glasswing and WeJourney. We plan to visit the youth group annually to help improve the programs offered, and find new ways to engage them in new experiences like travel, skate competitions and hopefully a trip to the mountains to experience snowboarding or skiing for the first time.
